Fashion Friday (It’s May Right?)

 Today’s post will be of my outfit yesterday. Normally I am complaining about the heat this time of year, but this is Texas where you can go from wanting snow cones one day to busting your winter coat out the next. We were experiencing quite the cold front, mid 40’s is quite a shock to system let me tell ya.  I wanted to look nice but still stay warm. Here is the look I came up with.

Fashion Friday Featuring Julie Mollo

 This week’s Fashion Friday will be featuring none other than the incredible Julie Mollo!  I actually had the great pleasure of meeting this lovely lady when I was in Brooklyn back in May, and I was immediately drawn to her, she just exudes confidence and has such a playful spirit, and her sense of style is the perfect blend of feminine and badass retro babe. These wonderful attributes are carried right into Julie’s designs and its no surprise that several big names have taken notice and commisioned Mrs Mollo to create pieces for them, one of these “Big Names” is none other than Katy Perry! Katy Perry’s style has always been one of the things I most loved about her, and I’ll admit there are several looks of hers I’ve tried to recreate. Now many of us cannot commision designers and don’t have teams to make us look fab…But we can still look like stars because Julie sells her pieces to the masses as well as musicians, performers, and the like. Isn’t that wonderful?

Tutu: Julie Mollo I would like to extend a huge thank you to Julie for understanding how so many of us ladies wanted nothing more than to be ballerinas! Now I may not be able to dance en pointe, or just dance in general for that matter, but that does not mean I cannot rock a tutu. This glorious tutu is made from 8 layers of wonderful bouncy tulle and the tie is made from cotton sateen, also another fun factor about the tie is you can tie a bow, knot it, and wear it either fastened in the back or front, its entirely up to you! Since this piece is a true to style tutu it is a bit sheer so I wore a white pencil skirt underneath mine, but you could wear a slip, tights, or even rock a body suit! Julie creates pieces that are easily personalized, and knows that fashion is meant to be fun and a form of expression! So all of her pieces are meant to be styled from one extreme to another, so whether you want to embrace the full girly girl look or want to add a little bit of edge to your attire Mrs Mollo has what you’re looking for.

Fashion Friday Featuring Daddy-O’s

 This week’s Fashion Friday will be featuring Daddy O’s  a company I came across when I first started my journey into pinup, so you can imagine my excitement when I finally got to feature them here on my blog.

Unlike many of the companies and stores that I feature Daddy O’s caters to gentlemen as well. Yes so that means the fella in your life can be sporting some equally stylish duds, from Bowling shirts to belts they’ve got it all, in fact they even carry bowling shirts for little boys, which I have got to say is one of the cutest things ever…and I’m already planning outfits for my little nephew 

Since Daddy O’s carries a number of brands such as Stop Staring, Steady Clothing, and Lucky 13 just to name a few, you are guaranteed to find something suited just for you.  I ended up falling in love with this little number from Stop Staring and I’m sure you can understand why.

Dress: Daddy O’s Where do I begin with this dress? The fabulous lapels? The fact that the halter is gorgeous but can also be removed if you’re feeling like being sassy and strapless? Or should I just talk about what jumped out at me most? THE PEPLUM DETAILING! Is there anything more classically feminine and wondrously flattering as peplum? I ordered a medium and I’d say it fits quite well, as a reference for you my measurements are 36″ 27.5″ 36″. Now I have a few wiggle dresses but most of them have been made from a thicker material so I might recommend wearing shapewear with this particular dress, I should have honestly, but most of my clothes are still in boxes, oh the joys of moving house  But anyway back to the dress, its a stunner of a piece and I can see it easily being a pinup staple that gets worn all year round! In conclusion I am thrilled with my choice.

Fashion Friday Featuring Heart of Haute Pt. 1

 This week I will be featuring Heart of Haute, an incredible clothing company who makes their pinup inspired pieces with “Love and No Regrets” meaning you can feel good about your purchases. No sweatshop labor and it’s all made in the USA! How stellar is that? This San Dimas California based company specializes in 50’s and 60’s style clothing, from tops to skirts and wiggle to swing dresses they have it all, and in a myriad of beautiful prints I might add

Dress: Heart of Haute  This dress is positively beautiful, I am so infatuated with the neckline! I love that just hanging on to the shoulder’s look, and because of the adjustable elastic sleeves it can be worn a little more off the shoulder if you’re looking to be extra daring  The cut of this dress is phenomenal, it accentuates everything you want it to, yet hides what is typically not our best asset, if you want to make that previous statement into a pun feel free haha. Not only is this dress 100% cotton which I love, but its a sturdy cotton. Don’t you hate when your clothes are thin as crepe paper? This dress is built to last, quality construction, sturdy fabric, and a silhouette that will NEVER go out of style. I received a size small and because of the elastic in the arms it fits beautifully. My measurements are 36″ 27 1/2″ 36″ so I should technically be a medium but the small fits me just fine. However keep in mind if the dress you choose has “restricted” construction (no stretch) I’d go with what the size chart says just to be safe. I am absolutely thrilled with this dress and will be wearing it often.

Pantyhose: Nordstrom

Shoes: DSW  I know you’re probably tired of seeing these shoes but what can I say? They are my go to pinup shoes, not too high of heel, all weather wearability, and a lovely shade of red.

Leather pencil skirt

Suknja „olovka” kroja polako ali sigurno mi postaje omiljeni deo odeće, i nedavno sam kupila dve u kožnoj varijanti. Inicijalno sam želela da je kombinujem sa sakoom, ali mi je jako bio zanimljiv spoj ovakve suknje i džemperića. Crni outfit sam osvežila bordo detaljima, čizmice i torba bile su u toj boji.


Pencil skirt cut is slowly but surely becoming my favorite piece of clothing, and I recently bought two faux leather pencil skirts, I adore them! Initially I wanted to combine it with a jacket or blazer, but to combine it with sweater was very interesting mix. I refreshed the black with burgundy details , boots and bag were in that color.

Audrey Hepburn inspired outfit

 Audrey Hepburn mi je velika inspiracija kada je stil u pitanju, i njen način oblačenja mi je bio početna misao dok sam smišljala ovu odevnu kombinaciju. Uska haljina sa dužinom do ispod kolena mi je imperativ kada su elegantne haljine u pitanju i rešila sam da je uklopim sa šik punđom i retro kaputićem koji je odlično išao uz nijanse na kariranim cipelama. Tamne “cat eye” naočare za sunce (po kojima je Audrey bila poznata) i masivne minđuše stavile su dodatni vintage efekat na ceo outfit.

 Audrey Hepburn is a big inspiration to me when it comes to style, and her appearance was my initial thought when I was making this outfit. Bodycon dresses with a below the knee length for me is imperative when it comes to elegant dresses. I decided to wear a chic bun and retro coat that mached perfectly with shades on plaid shoes. Dark “cat eye” sunglasses and massive earrings were additional vintage effect to the whole outfit.

Green Chick / Zelena elegancija

 Plisirana elegantna haljina i to u zanimljivoj zagasitoj nijansi zelene boje može biti zanimljiv preglod za novogodišnju kombinaciju, a upečatljiva ogrlica će još više naglasiti outfit, koji se ne može zamisliti ni bezelegantnih štiklica. Ali zato, ovaj zeleni prsluk od veštačkog krzna je potpuno neočekivani detalj, i daje poseban šmek celoj  odevnoj kombinaciji. Imam posebnu naklonost prema zelenoj boji zbog boje mojih očiju, i jako se lepo osećam u njoj, pa bih se rado umesto tipično crne haljine opredelila za ovako nešto za bilo koju elegantnu priliku. 

 A striking necklace or another striking piece of jewelery is a must for elegant outfit  and high heels also.This green vest was unexpected detail, and gives a special charm to the whole outfit, a final touch. I have aspecial affection for the green color because of the color of my eyes, and really feel good wearing it, so I’d gladly wear this instead of the typical black dress for any elegant occasion.

 Za one koji se ne plaše da budu smeliji, ovakva haljina je pun pogodak. Crni oversized džemper na kopčanje može dati dozu opuštenosti u ovakvoj kombinaciji, dok crna bundica može još više da istakne eleganciju.Masivna srebrna ogrlica je upečatljiv komad idealan za sve posebne prilike dok ciklama cipele sa crnom čipkom mogu biti i detalj koji će istaći neku jednostavniju kombinaciju npr. skroz crne boje, ali su izanimljiva kombinacija sa haljinom u istoj boji. Zimi mi je posebno interesantno da nosim ovakve upečatljive i jarke boje.

 For those of you who are not afraid to be daring, this dress is a must. Black oversized cardigan can give you comfy feeling and make a more relaxed outfit with this dress, and black fur coat may highlight the elegance.The massive silver necklace is a striking piece perfect for any special occasion, and I can say that also for these cyclamen colored shoes with black lace detail. I particularly like to wear these striking and vibrant colors like this shade of pink  during winter.

 Klasično crno beloj kombinaciji boja dodala sam sivu i upečatljive detalje – torbicu i cipele. Obožavam “olovka” modele suknji, a najzanimljivije mi je da ih kombinujem sa bajkerskim kožnim jaknama.

Happy Friday! I haven’t been so excited about Friday since last Friday. 

I added a gray and vivid details – the purse and shoes to classic black and white color combination. I lovepencil skirts, and the most interesting to me is to combine them with a leather biker jacket.

Lace dress for New Year’s Eve 

 Pošto sam dobila dosta zahteva da napravim predloge za novogodišnje veče, evo jednog od njih. Ovu haljinu od čipke sam nosila za izlazak, ali bi svakako mogla da posluži i za doček, elegantna je i zanimljiva. Uz interesantnu frizuru i efektan nakit, mislim da je ovako nešto odličan izbor

 Since I’ve received a lot of requests to make outfit suggestions for New Year’s Eve, here’s one of them. I wore this lace dress for night out, but it could alsobe used for theNew Year’s Eve, as it’s elegant and interesting. With some festive hairdo and effective jewelry, I think something like this would be a great choice.

Eclectic Blue / Plava suknja

 Plava je uvek bila boja koja me inspiriše, a mislim da ova upečatljiva suknja dolazi do izražaja u kombinaciji sa crnom. Pored bele, crna košulja je nešto što vi svaka devojka trebalo imati u garderoberu, volim ovu moju od providnog i elastičnog materijala, i odlično se kombinuje uz sve. Lep provod večeras za sve koji slave!:)

 Blue is a color that always inspires me, and I think that this striking skirt is goes best in combination with all black. Like white, black shirt is something thatevery girl should have in the closet, I just love this transparent one with elastic material, it goes well with everything.

Autfit koji najbolje imponuje ženstvenosti za mene je oduvek bio onaj koji je uključivao usku suknju sa dužinom ispod kolena, izrez na leđima (leđa su meni lično jedan od najlepših ženskih delova tela) i naravno, visoke štikle. Ova elegantna kombinacija je namenjena za više prilika, onih elegantnijih naravno, pa se može nositi i za izlazak, modnu reviju ili neki sličan događaj, ali i za novogodišnje veče. Želim vam lep vikend. 

For me, feminine anf figure-flattering styles include outfits such as this one, tight but longer skirt, blouse with cutout on the back (the back is to me personally one of the most beautiful female body parts) and of course, high heels. This elegant combination is suitable for many occasions, the elegantones, of course, and it can be worn for going out, fashion shows or some similar events, and also, for New Year’sEve. Have a good weekend.

Mesh Cut Out Front Midi Dress

 Mala crna haljina sa zanimljivim trendi detaljima, u elegantnoj dužini ispod kolena daje mnogo mogućnosti za kombinovanje. Čak i ako je kombinacija skroz crna (izuzev crvenih štikli), ona može biti jako upadljiva i zanimljiva. Outfit dobija instant dozu upečatljivosti kada se ubaci kožna jakna sa nitnama koja se može kombinovati i uz opuštenije varijante i boyfriend jeans ali i uz elegantnije haljine i štikle. Volim da spajam zanimljive komade garderobe, a ova kombinacija mi je bila posebno zabavno “mix and match” iskustvo.

Little black dress with interesting trendy cut out, with elegant below the knee length gives a lot of opportunities for combining. Even if the outfit is completely black (except the red heels here), it can be very striking and interesting. Outfit gets an instant dose of impressiveness with leather jacket with studs, which can be combined with a relaxed and cozy peaces like boyfriend jeans but also with elegant dresses and high heels. I like to combine interesting pieces of clothing, to have fun with my wardrobe and this outfit was particularly fun mix and match experience.
